If prime society hasn't been on your radar already you best tap in because this new single "distant" from Southwest-based rap group turned turned band has an infectious melodie's and a fun energy all throughout the song.
This is definitely my favorite track from the group so far and I really love how they display their rap roots along with the new sound they have developed as a group in which they predominantly use live instruments. The pluckiness of the synths that play in the intro and all throughout the song adds this bounciness which I just love and the way that the melodic vocals hit the pockets just right adds to the bounciness of the track as well. The pitched vocal ad libs are a cool touch in the song that adds variation along with the different flows and inflections that each band member delivers during different parts. Whether it is on the hook or on the verses of the song each member is able to slide on the beat adding a new dynamic by switching up the flow.
With lines in the hook such as, “I’ve been ducking calls once again. Ignoring messages from all my friends”, Prime Society does a great job of describing that feeling everyone gets when you just want to be antisocial. They present it in a way that is super relatable and catchy making the track easy to vibe out to on repeat. I also love how they let the beat ride out at the end with some more fun spacy adlibs sprinkled in the background.
This is a really enjoyable track and I definitely recommend checking it out below if you get the chance!
