Making their second appearance on our page is none other than the ever so talented alternative band based out of Phoenix Arizona named Fearofmakingout. I have been keeping my eye out for all their releases since discovering their music and I am happy to say that I now have another opportunity to write about them because they have just dropped a new single titled “bodies”.

It is great to see them back with this new release because I really enjoyed the last single they put out as well. In comparison, this new song is quite different from their last one and this is a good thing because it shows how versatile they are when it comes to creating art. The feeling the song gives is an ethereal type of energy that is a very easy listen all the way through. The very beginning of the song starts with the distant sound of a band drumming which goes along with the cover art perfectly. Once the instrumental opens up fully we are greeted by these pitched vocals that are delivered in a chill tone. The harmonizing vocals all throughout the whole song are mesmerizing and the relaxing swing of the song makes me feel like I'm floating in slow motion. The middle portion of the song features more melodic singing style vocals which I really love and this portion leads to a different section where the instrumental cuts out and the distant band  style drums slowly come back in. Rap vocals are then delivered in a nonchalant tone on top of this new sounding instrumental and the cadence of these vocals, along with the rhyme scheme, gives me the same vibes as poetry or spoken word.

The song ends with the line, “just take me” being sung repeatedly, which sounds equivalent to the feeling of closing one's eyes to peacefully fall asleep or relax. Overall I really enjoy this track and I can definitely picture it being played in almost any setting. Go ahead and give this song a listen using the link down below when you get a chance!
