Rising R&B/Soul musical talent Josh Caballes has just released a smooth R&B song that sounds like a classic record just in time for the fall season. He has been in the process of rearranging his discography, and after his latest release of the nine song project titled “DIVINE TIMING”, he finally returns to the scene with the release of two new songs as a double single titled “SEARCHLIGHT (In Too Deep)”.

The first song is able to capture that classic R&B sound by using drums and percs from familiar sounding hits and a wavy groove to compliment Josh’s Vocals. The way that the hook comes in with its multiple layers makes it such a moment and the increase in energy and passion heard in his voice is felt especially during this part of the song. The way that he sings out lines such as, “doesn’t matter because I’m lost” and “how far before I’m in too deep”, excellently conveys this feeling of hopelessness or disarray that is being voiced through the delivery and the subject matter of the lyrics.

The second song in this double single has a completely different groove with a more melodic rap style delivery. I really like this track because the cadence of his rapping hits the pockets perfectly and compliments the kick pattern really well. This track is more of a mellow vibe but it perfectly contrasts the first song so I can understand why these songs were released together. Listen to both of these awesome new tracks from Josh Caballes linked below!
